The Outstanding Educator Award is established by the Maryland Society for Educational Technology to highlight the unwavering dedication to outstanding educators using technology in the PreK-12 classroom.

Description

The Outstanding Educator Using Technology Award is presented annually to a Maryland educator who has demonstrated exceptional and innovative use of educational technology to enhance teaching and learning. This award aligns with MSET’s mission of advancing excellence in learning and teaching through effective integration of technology in the classroom.

Aims and Objectives

  • To recognize educators who model best practices in the use of educational technology.

  • To encourage the thoughtful and innovative integration of digital tools to support student achievement.

  • To promote the sharing of instructional strategies that effectively incorporate technology.

  • To celebrate educators who inspire others to embrace educational technology as a pathway to excellence in learning.

Nominations

Nominations may be submitted by colleagues, supervisors, school or district leaders, or any member of the educational community. Nominees must be practicing educators in the state of Maryland who use technology in impactful and transformative ways in their instruction.
All nomination materials are confidential and will not be returned. Materials should clearly demonstrate how the nominee exemplifies the award’s aims and objectives.

Award Gift

The awardee will be formally recognized at a surprise celebration at their respective school or office place in the spring or early summer and will receive a personalized banner, complimentary MSET membership for one year, and featured recognition on the MSET website and publications.

Application Deadline

Nominations and supporting materials must be submitted by February 14.
