PROVIDING SUPPORT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR TEACHERS
Event details
Description:
Computer science education has been on the rise for the past few decades. Companies like Code.org have created courses so that any student can start to learn how to code. Acts like Every Student Succeeds Act require that all students have access to computational thinking by the time they finish 8th grade. This has prompted educators to look for resources for students of all ability levels and in all class settings.
This professional development will show you how to use resources in the Code.org CS Fundamentals courses that meet students where they are no matter what level of experience they have. There are courses for pre-readers through high school AP curriculum. The materials will be presented, and teachers will have time to ask questions and engage with the curriculum to determine how they can apply it to their classroom.
